Project Name: Scorcher on the Rampage

I wanted to see what I could do with an old Tyco Scorcher that my son had lost interest in. The result was quite interesting. Put it in a room and it follows the edge... real fast! Although it can see things in it's path, and steer away before a collision, it moves so fast, it is hard to resist the temptation to jump out of the way.

The electronics includes;

  • First Step Microcontroller
  • Dual H-Bridge DC Motor Driver
  • IRPD Infrared Proximity Detector
