About the 4WD2 Robot
The Lynxmotion 4WD2 Robot Kit is a robust chassis for your RC or autonomous robot experimentation. By utilizing some common RC truck tires and wheels the robot has excellent traction. Making use of our small NiMH battery packs and the Sabertooth 2x10 R/C motor controller means there is plenty of room inside for additional electronics. The robot is capable of carrying up to a 5lb payload. We have optional accessories, such as a Pan and Tilt or grippers, with many more in the works.
The Mechanics
The robot chassis is made from ultra-tough laser-cut Lexan structural components, and custom aluminum brackets. Includes 7.2vdc 50:1 gear head motors. The robot is primarily designed to be remote controlled, however we are planning on adding combo kits for autonomous operation.
Controlling the Robot
The robot can be controlled with a Sabertooth and an RC radio set for remote control operation. Autonomous operation can be achieved by adding a microcontroller and sensors.
